As the founder of Multitool.org Grant has been a collector of Swiss Army Knives and multitools for over 25 years, and a user for over 40 years.
With a day job working in the field, either out in the woods or on industrial sites, Grant uses tools every day for all manner of different purposes.
Some of you may have noticed the change in our logo- the addition of the black band to the standard Multitool.org logo is a most unfortunate sign, as it signals the loss of one of our members. This time it is in honor of our good friend ColoSwiss, aka Karl, one of the most prolific and knowledgeable Swiss Army Knife collectors I have ever known.
Recently a member on our forum had an issue with a new Gerber Diesel multitool. As was to be expected, Gerber replaced the Diesel under warranty, something we have come to expect from all major manufacturers. But this issue was far from over.
Maxpedition is giving away a bag to a lucky winner to celebrate hitting 70,000 followers- and it is the winner’s choice of any product they make! Here’s your chance to get in on it!
The March 2019 Donation Draw prize has been posted, and it's not one you will want to miss if you are a Swiss Army Knife collector! The Series 2 Nespresso knife is more than just any old Victorinox Pioneer!
If I had to pick a passion in my life (beyond Multitool.org of course!) it would probably be outdoor adventure- and to me, there’s no adventure like a paddling adventure. I spend as much time as possible every year in the seat of one of my kayaks, exploring places that many other people will never see. Naturally, when SOG sent me an email to let people know they were supporting a rowing team going for one (or more!) world records in crossing the Atlantic, I took notice!
Gerber just sent me a cut sheet on the new Gerber Versafix machete, and in the surface it looks quite interesting indeed. Will it hold up? Only time will tell, but it looks like it has just about all the things you want in a machete.
Benchmade is the subject of the latest online protest, and they can thank the local police for for it.
Oregon City Police tweeted a photo a couple of days ago attempting to promote Benchmade Knives as a good corporate citizen by helping the police destroy some firearms.
Just a heads up for anyone in the US looking for a great deal on SOG products. They are offering 20% off on certain models on their website right now.
In a world where it can sometimes be difficult to carry a multitool, many of the manufacturers have struggled to come up with designs for TSA friendly type tools. The latest from Gerber is called the Mullet- will it live up to the "business up front, party in the back" mentality that has driven the haistyle it's named after? I'm not sure the mullet hairstyle sets the bar that high, so, yeah, it probably will.
It’s 2019, and somehow that arbitrary change from 2018 is supposed to make a difference in people’s lives. If you are one of those people that have successfully made a positive change in our life, then all power to you. For the rest of us, change is inevitible, like it or not!
