Did you know there were two versions of Leatherman's Surge model?  This is the original, introduced in 2005 and produced until it was updated in 2013.

Since I got the package from Maxpedition last month I have been using the heck out of the stuff to see if it’s just pretty, or whether it is worthy of the Maxpedition name. After putting a few miles on the stuff I thought it was a bout time I talked about the sheath specifically.

I wasn’t sure what size sheath to get when I ordered them from Maxpedition, so I asked them to determine what size would be best to fit a Leatherman Surge. It’s good that I did because I was thinking about getting the large one because I figured the big Surge would need it.

The gerber enter-Drive arived today and I thought I would share some of my initial impressions on it.  There will be a full review as soon as it has seen some use, but so far I am feeling quite positive about it.

Multitool users are always being told to use the right tool for the right job, and I agree for the most part. Whenever possible the right tool (usually a dedicated tool) is preferable to using a multitool, but what about the type of situation where a multitool is the right tool?

The Surge caught my eye while perusing EDCDepot and I decided to give it a shot. I like the Wave type styling that seems to be very prevalent in the current offerings from Leatherman, so I decided to see what it was like in person.
